Musicians Garden is offering a class unlike any other for all public schools. It helps students learn the basics in playing, composing and recording music in a group setting. The program intends to show the kids how to be team players, creative, and to have confidence in themselves and their art.
The unique feature of the MG After-School Program is the challenged posed to the students: can they work together to create a piece of original music? Those who enroll in the class will be provided detailed lessons on transposing ideas to music, creating emotion with notes, and collaborating with others. The class is intended to help students realize their musical potential but it also teaches many life skills such as empathy, respect, and the ability to be open minded.
MG After-School Program can be done as a 12 week course or can run the entire year in length and is adaptable for grades 2-12 with 10-25 students per class. Schools may also purchase an ASP kit from Musicians Garden which provides all of the instruments and allows them to provide instruments to students during school hours for practice or rehearsals. Musicians Garden will provide the students with the opportunity to work with many different types of instruments, usually not provided by general music education, such as electric guitars, drum kits, and electronic instruments. We also pride ourselves in teaching professional level voice, including opera, rock, R&B, soul and pop. MG gives students a “working” experience, teaching techniques for recording and production.
